A major advancement in the governance of social protection in Morocco.

Decree No. 2.26.819, published in the Official Gazette No. 7555 on October 26, 2026, reshapes the scope of intervention of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Efficiency. Under its provisions, several responsibilities previously distributed among different government departments are entrusted to Fouzi Lekjaa, including the State’s supervisory authority over the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), the evaluation of public policies, and the oversight of the Compensation Fund. According to the General Secretariat of the Government, the decree entered into force retroactively as of October 16, 2026.
